1. Level 1 Charging (120 V – Trickle Charge)
What it is: This uses a standard 120‑volt household outlet—no special electrical upgrades required.
How it performs: Delivers about 3–5 miles of range per hour, adding up slowly over time. Ideal for low-mileage daily driving or plug-in hybrids.
Best suited for: Overnight charging in homes with minimal installation needs or as a reliable backup option.
2. Level 2 Charging (208–240 V – Preferred Home Option)
What it is: Powered by a 240‑volt circuit—similar to what runs your electric dryer. Requires dedicated wiring or a NEMA 14-50 outlet.
How it performs: Adds roughly 15–30 miles of range per hour, fully charging most EVs within a few hours—perfect for overnight or midday top-ups.
Best suited for: Daily commuters, family vehicle use, and light commercial needs. Offers the best balance of speed and cost-efficiency. Optional smart features (Wi-Fi, scheduling) help manage charging and utilities.
3. Level 3 / DC Fast Charging (Direct Current – Not for Residential)
What it is: A high-power system delivering direct current rapidly, typically found at commercial sites or highway rest areas.
How it performs: Charges up to 80% of battery capacity in under an hour—speeds vary by system and vehicle.
Best suited for: Long-distance travel or public charging access—not practical for home installation due to power and infrastructure demands.
